Dahlia 101C: Harvesting, Conditioning, and Designing with Dahlias

  • Wilding Hope Farm 229 Cuba Mills Road Mifflintown, PA, 17059 United States (map)

Part 3 of our 3 course series on growing, harvesting, and designing with these gorgeous blooms! Attend individual workshops or sign up for all 3 at a discounted rate here!

In Dahlia101C we will celebrate the beauty of the late September Dahlia patch in full bloom and explore how to harvest and condition blooms for the longest vase life. We will also explore the practices of disbudding to get larger blooms, bagging for organic protection from pests, virus identification, and tagging and identifying varieties in preparation for digging for winter storage. We’ll also explore the 2025 seedling patch, look for good genetics, and talk about when and how to save seeds.

Attendees will then pick a bucket full of blooms, condition them, and Phoebe will guide them in creating a gorgeous floral arrangement to take home. All materials and tools are provided. Bring a pair of gardening gloves since this is a hands on event!

You can purchase tickets here!
