Holiday Wreath Workshop
Join us for a cozy Holiday workshop in the Wilding Hope Farm studio and learn how to create a beautiful mixed evergreen Holiday wreath using beautifully scented evergreens and botanicals harvested from the farm.

With Phoebe’s tutoring and hands on guidance you will create either a long lasting holiday wreath for your door or a lush garland for your Holiday table or mantle while savoring the company of others, warm spiced cider, coffee, hot tea, and a selection of family favorite holiday treats.
This is a professional level design workshop in a relaxed beginner friendly space. All participants will leave with a wealth of knowledge about the types of materials, the techniques, and the mechanics needed to create garlands and wreaths. The design skills you learn in this workshop can be adapted to create all kinds of botanical designs including floral crowns, table garland, hanging garland, and dried or fresh wreaths.

Holiday Centerpiece Workshop
Come create a beautifully fragrant and long lasting evergreen centerpiece with candles for your holiday table or mantlepiece that will add the finishing beautiful focal point for your holiday home. Phoebe’s gifted hands on instruction will have you feeling confident and excited about your beautiful creation. Take a break from the rush of holiday pressures and enjoy time reveling in the beauty and calm of the natural world. We’ll have Holiday cookies, relaxing music, and warm wassail to keep the Hygge vibes strong. Bring your friends and family and make it a cozy evening to remember in our farm studio and leave with a gorgeous floral creation.
Cut Flower Gardening 101A: Growing Tulips, Ranunculus, Anemone, and other Cool Flowers for Spring
Come get excited about Spring by learning how to start your cut flower garden with a focus on everyone’s favorite spring blooms, Tulips, Anemone and Ranunculus! We’ll walk you through the tips and tricks to successfully grow these sought after cut flowers that grow best in cool temperatures. From soaking, to pre-sprouting, to planting, weed control and winter protection, we’ll cover it all.
The second half of the workshop will cover no-till flower bed preparation, cool weather direct seeding, milk jug seeding, and cool flower succession planning.
Dahlia 101A: Digging, Storing and Propagating Dahlias from Tuber Divisions
Part 2 of our 3 course series on growing, harvesting, and designing with these gorgeous show stopper blooms! Attend individual workshops or sign up for all 3 at a discounted rate here!
In Dahlia 101B we will demonstrate digging and dividing dahlia tubers for propagation and plant health, and show several different storage methods for over wintering tubers. We’ll also do a farm tour and explore our experimental methods of overwintering dahlias without digging both outdoors and in our field tunnels and talk about how we use inter cropping to save growing space and control weeds and pests. All attendees will receive a bag of 8 healthy tubers and the materials to store them in through the winter months.
Flower Crown Workshop
Join us in the farm studio for a fun and laid back floral workshop for people of all ages and crafting skills! In this 2 hour long workshop, you will learn different techniques to make your very own everlasting flower crown one aimed at teens and adults, and one for younger hands. All tools and supplies are provided along with hands on instruction from the Wilding Hope team. Participants may want to bring along a pair of gardening gloves to protect their hands.
Cut Flower Gardening 101B: Succession Planning, Direct Seeding, and Transplanting Heat Loving Annuals
This on-farm workshop will give you the tools needed to plan a garden filled with annual cut flowers that bloom all the way until frost! We’ll demonstrate how to start different kinds of warm weather annuals from seed, cover transplanting do’s and don’ts, and discuss how to plant successions of sunflowers and other short lived blooms for season extension.
Seasonal Floral Design 101E: Ranunculus Nosegay and Boutonnieres
Learn how to design the sweetest handheld spiral nosegay and long lasting boutonniere with everyone’s favorite spring blooms including ranunculus, anemone, and more! Phoebe will guide you in harvesting, conditioning, and assembling a matching bouquet and boutonniere perfect for any formal dance (PROM is coming!), summer elopement, or just to gift to someone special. From color theory and flower choice, to wiring and spiral placement, adding textural interest with hardy foliage and accent blooms, to hydration chambers and floral additives for keeping flowers fresh, Phoebe will share all the tips to create professional quality pieces that hold up for any event. You will leave with a beautiful hand tied bouquet and boutonniere to take home and the knowledge of how to create these pieces for future events. All supplies are provided, but participants may want to bring a pair of gardening gloves to protect their hands. Light refreshments will be served.
Seasonal Floral Design 101F: Tulips, Daffodils, Anemone, and Spring Branches
Come spend a Spring afternoon designing with Phoebe in the studio with lush specialty tulips, narcissus, anemone, daffodils, spring branches, and more! Phoebe will demonstrate how to harvest, condition and store all kinds of spring flowers and woody branches from the farm. Together we’ll create a woodland table scape that perfectly captures the whimsy of Spring while discussing color theory, proportion, line, movement, and sustainable floral mechanics like floral frogs, pins, and armatures. After creating the table scape together each participant will create their own floral frog arrangement with Phoebe’s hands on guidance to take home. All supplies, flowers, and containers will be provided. Light refreshments will be served as well.
Dahlia 101B: Growing Healthy Dahlias for Cut Flower Production
In Dahlia 101C we will talk about how to grow the healthiest plants for the maximum number of blooms. Attendees will learn about soil enrichment, proper planting depth, water needs and irrigation, interplanting with understory plants that attract pollinators for pest management, and solutions for weed control. We’ll spend some time getting our hands dirty planting dahlia tubers and rooted cutting starts in the field. We’ll also do a final round of rooting cuttings from tubers for those looking to increase their stock.
Cut Flower Gardening 101C: Pinching, Harvesting, and Designing for Market Bouquets
The number one question we get asked at our markets is, “How do you get such long stems?” And a close second is, “How do you get your flowers to last sooo long in the vase?” This workshop will answer both questions…
The second half of the workshop we’ll move to the studio, where we will practice designing both hand tied bouquets and simple vase arrangements using the flowers that we harvested. Phoebe will talk about the “recipes” she uses to build classy, texture filled bouquets using line, focal, and filler blooms. She’ll also teach about proportions, stem placement, movement, balance, vessel choice, and color theory. You’ll leave with two gorgeous bouquets and a notebook filled with notes about how to create beautiful arrangements from your own garden.
Cut Flower Gardening 101D: Harvesting and Preserving Flowers and Seeds
Late August is the perfect time to begin harvesting and preserving blooms from your cutting garden for autumn and winter crafting projects and saving seeds for next year’s garden. In this workshop we’ll explore which flower varieties have the best shape, color, and textures for everlasting flowers. We’ll also talk about how to cut each flower at the perfect stage for drying, which is often a very different stage than harvesting for fresh cuts…
The second half of the workshop we’ll move to the Wilding Hope drying room and floral studio to look at methods of floral preservation including various methods of hanging, pressing, and dehydrating. We’ll also spend some time looking at different ways that everlasting flowers can be used to celebrate nature’s beauty in the fall and winter months and we’ll create a small dried floral craft together using flowers preserved earlier in the season.
Dahlia 101C: Harvesting, Conditioning, and Designing with Dahlias
In Dahlia 101A, we will celebrate the beauty of the Dahlia patch in all of its September glory, explore best harvesting practices and conditioning tips and tricks, and create gorgeous floral arrangements using oodles of dahlias and lots of other autumnal botanicals.
Seasonal Floral Design 101B: Floral Arches and Installations with Autumn’s Beauty
Come learn how to use sustainable mechanics to create lush floral arches and standing floral installations using autumnal branches, dried pods, vines and grasses, glorious Dahlias and other seasonal blooms. Together we will create an elaborate backdrop of florals for the Harvest Farm-to-Table dinner hosted at the farm that evening.
For those who want to take their floral skills to the next level, this workshop will focus on creativity, problem solving, and creating 3D sculptural forms using florals. This is also an excellent workshop for floral professionals wishing to move away from using traditional floral foam in their design work. A photographer will be on hand to capture the process and participants can also have their photos taken with t e installation. Participants will leave with European hand tied bouquets filled with autumn beauty and a wealth of knowledge. Light refreshments will be provided. Participants may want to bring a pair of gardening gloves to protect their hands.
Year End Harvest Celebration
Come explore the farm through restful meditation and yoga, farm tours including an introduction to our native plant experiment areas, flower harvesting and handheld bouquet workshop, and a bonfire at the creek. Join us in thanking the land for all of the beauty and restoration she has provided us with this season.

Dahlia U-pick Day #3
Come enjoy the colorful dahlia fields at Wilding Hope and pick your own bucket (25-30 stems) of glorious Dahlias. Picking vessels, water, clippers, and floral solution are provided. Additional types of autumn flowers, fillers, and foliage will also be available to add additional beauty to your bouquet.
Cool drinks and a sweet treat will also be provided. Guests are encouraged to bring a larger picnic meal and are welcome to enjoy it in the pavilion area next to the creek.
This event is dependent on the weather and tickets will be refunded and you will be notified of the cancelation should we have a killing frost before this event can occur.
Seasonal Floral Design 101A: Bold and Bodacious Autumn Arrangements
Love large luscious arrangements with big, bold blooms like sunflowers, dahlias and brain celosia, but struggle to know how to deal with their thick stems and heavy blooms? Come learn from Phoebe how to harvest, condition, and design with summer’s biggest blooms using sustainable design techniques. We’ll experiment with creating both forward facing statement arrangements like those used for memorial arrangements, churches, or auditoriums, and also more organic asymmetrical arrangements that can be viewed from all directions for buffet tables, wine barrels, foyer tables. Some of the design concepts that we will focus on include balance, weight, and structure in addition to color theory and the use of repetition to create movement. Participants will leave with a large floral arrangement and the skills and confidence to create large statement florals going forwards. All supplies provided including a large vase and light refreshments will be provided. Participants may want to bring a pair of gloves to protect their hands.
